Payment of Murray Shire Council's rates can be made by any of the following options:
Personal Payment at Council's Offices:
You may pay in person at the Mathoura Head Office (21-25 Conargo Street), Moama Branch Office (6 Meninya Street) or the Mathoura Visitor and Business Centre (Cobb Highway) during normal office hours Monday to Friday. Payments can be made by cash, cheque or EFTPOS.
Any Post Office:
Present your rate notice intact to any Post Office and pay by cash, cheque or EFTPOS.
Mail:
Detach payment advice (found at the bottom of your rates notice) and forward together with cheque or money order to: Murray Shire Council, PO Box 21, Mathoura NSW 2710. Cheques/money orders should be made payable to Murray Shire Council. Sufficient time must be allowed for the payment to be received on or before the due date.
Telephone - Credit Card:
You may pay your rates by phone, 24 hours a day 7 days a week, by calling 13 18 16. Simply quote Billpay Code 4223, along with your Customer Reference Number (shown in the bottom left hand corner on the front page of your rates notice) and credit card details (Mastercard or Visa).
Telephone - BPay:
Call your participating financial institution to make a payment from your nominated account (excluding credit cards). Quote Biller Code 72850 and your 6 digit Customer Reference Number (shown in the bottom left hand corner on the front page of your rates notice).
On Line Payments:
Payments to a maximum of $1,000 can be made using Australia Post Billpay over the internet using your Mastercard or Visa. Simply quote Billpay Code 4223, along with your Customer Reference Number (shown in the bottom left hand corner on the front page of your rates notice), the amount being paid and your credit card details (Mastercard or Visa).
Direct Debit:
You may nominate an amount and have it deducted from your bank account on a periodic basis, whether it be weekly, fortnightly, monthly, each instalment or in full. A Direct Debit Request Service Agreement and Direct Debit Request - Rates is required to be completed and returned to Murray Shire Council as soon as possible. Please read the Service Agreement carefully, particularly Section 4 "Your Obligations". You can also obtain these forms from Council's Rates Officer.
Centrepay:
Use Centrepay to make regular deductions from your Centrelink payment. Centrepay is a voluntary and easy payment option available to Centrelink customers. Go to humanservices.gov.au/Centrepay for more information. To complete a Centrepay Deduction Form go to www.humanservices.gov.au/customer/forms/sa325. The account number with the service provider is your 6 digit Customer Reference Number (shown in the bottom left hand corner of the front page of your rates notice) and Council's Service Provider's Centrepay Reference Number is 555 054 518V.
Please Note: payments made via BPay, Australia Post and Murray Shire internet payments are not processed to Murray Shire's account until the next banking business day, accordingly, please consider your banking institutions payment delays. Murray Shire accepts no responsibility for the late processing of your account.
