Murray Shire Council is seeking to improve the household waste service they offer to you and is conducting a survey to gather information about willingness to pay for a food and/or garden organics recycling service.
At an Extraordinary Meeting of the Murray Shire Council on Tuesday 26 May 2015, Councillors of the Murray Shire voted unanimously to lodge a “stand alone” proposal, rather than a merger proposal.
The NSW Government has been working with local councils since 2011 to achieve a shared vision of strengthening local communities. Now it is time to take the next step on the reform journey.
The community groups and key projects to benefit include:
Murray Shire Council administers a ClubGRANTS Committee involving the three (3) major clubs in Moama, being Moama Bowling Club, Moama RSL and Rich River Golf Club Resort, for the purpose of making recommendations as to eligible projects within the community.
The Minister said, “We will make improvements to the Local Government system, including the laws that govern it, the way the State works with councils and the support that councils receive”. He went on to say; “Local councils have a vital role in shaping communities and helping them to grow”.
